Impacts of Canadian Postal Strike

The current strike by workers at Canada Post and the shutdown of postal services in Canada is showing little sign of an early resolution. At the current time the GPO in the UK is not accepting any mail addressed to Canada.

We will, of course, keep a close eye on developments and once the GPO resumes deliveries to Canada we will revert to our normal operations.

However, in the meantime the following back up arrangements will be in operation:-

MAPLE LEAVES:- The October issue of Maple Leaves is due to be printed and distributed in week commencing 13 October following our AGM. Assuming the strike is still in effect, we will be posting the October issue here on the CPSGB website along with any enclosures to the issue so that members in Canada have prompt access to the issue. These will be pdf files which can either be read online or downloaded. The printed copy will follow in the mail once the Canada Post system is up and running again.

SOCIETY AUCTION:- Our current auction is due to close on Friday 17 October and lots will be picked and sorted over the days following the close. Invoices to bidders will be sent out by e mail in the usual way and we would ask all members to settle these promptly in the usual way. However, if the Canada Post strike is still ongoing any packages for successful bidders based in Canada will be held in secure storage and only shipped out when the mail system is back to normal.
